A huge trampoline park has launched in Stourbridge by a father and daughter team, leading property company London & Cambridge Properties (LCP) has announced.

Boing Zone is opening at Block E, Bay 3, The Stourbridge Estate, Mill Race Lane, after Ian and Kerry Clarke agreed a 10-year lease for the 7,552 sq ft unit.

The pair – a former FTSE 100 director and a jewellery business owner – have invested about £150,000 in their new venture, which will comprise 5,000 sq ft of connected trampolines, a Dodgeball trampoline court, tumble track, training area, foam pit, and café.

Once fully operational, the centre, will employ 10 full-time staff and 20 part-time staff.

Ian Clarke said he was keen to locate the business at the unit because it was in a development zone earmarked for leisure use, which not only saved on costs but also meant that they could open very quickly.

“We first approached LCP in early April about leasing the unit and we progressed very quickly – opening less than four months later,” said Ian.

“We’re very excited to launch Boing Zone this summer. We’ll be providing a very safe, fully supervised and stimulating environment for children and adults, which will enable users to have fun and keep physically fit.

“Our staff will be highly trained and will enforce our rigorous safety rules and, because there is no regulatory body in the UK, we will adhere to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards.”

Boing Zone will also include the country’s first 12D cinema experience, which offers up to 12 synchronised, multi-sensory effects, plus “active motion” seats.

“It’s a new concept for the UK and we are thrilled to offer this unique entertainment experience right here in the West Midlands,” said Ian, who is already looking for a second trampoline park site in the north Birmingham area.

“There will be 10 short films to see and we’ll be adding new titles every month.”

Paula James, LCP industrial lettings manager, said the addition of the trampoline park meant that The Stourbridge Estate, which has an indoor skate park, go-kart centre, and indoor children’s play facility, is a premium leisure destination.

“Being a dedicated leisure zone meant we were able to work very quickly with Ian and Kerry to get this facility up and running in time for the school summer break,” she said.

“It’s a fantastic facility to have here at The Stourbridge Estate and I know that it will be welcomed by people looking for something a little bit different to try.”
