Children’s charity Barnardo’s has opened a fundraising shop in a Shrewsbury suburb.

The shop at Unit 7, Tilstock Crescent, Sutton Farm, has opened to the pubic after the charity agreed a 10-year lease for the 1,100 sq ft property.

It is the fourth store that Barnardo’s has opened in an LCP-managed property this year – with Brierley Hill, West Midlands, Beeston in Nottinghamshire, and Macclesfield, Cheshire, opening in the spring.

Matt Pegg, retail asset manager, said: “Unit 7 is an ideally sized store for Barnardo’s. We’ve been working a lot with the children’s charity this year, looking for suitable premises so that it can increase its fundraising efforts in local communities, and are pleased to have found this property for it.”

Jason Worley, area business manager for Barnardo’s, added: “This is the first retail shop Barnardo's has opened in Shrewsbury and we are looking forward to working with local people and welcoming customers in store to help raise much-needed funds to carry out the work we do across the West Midlands and nationwide.”

Other stores in the parade include: The Co-operative, Shrewsbury Fish Bar and Daisy Chain Day Centre.

Members of the public can donate unwanted items to the store. Visit www.barnardos.org.uk for more information.
