NEW STORES FOR WULFRUN

Two new retailers have taken on more than 6,000 sq ft of space in the Wulfrun Centre in Wolverhampton, while another tenant has expanded its store.

In a move that signals a growing confidence in the retail sector, CEX Ltd, the technology and gaming retail specialist, has opened a 2,175 sq ft shop at units 56 and 57, after signing a 10-year lease with London & Cambridge Properties (LCP), which owns and manages the shopping centre.

It has been joined by home furnishings and appliances retailer Brighthouse, which has opened a 3,596 sq ft store at units 30 and 31, agreeing a 10 year lease with the landlord.

Meanwhile the opticians Specsavers, which already trades from units 58 and 59 at the centre, is expanding into number 60, taking its space from 4,823 sq ft to a total of 6,218 sq ft.

Andrew Barratt, LCP asset manager, said the new retailers are a boost to the shopping centre, while the expansion of established tenant Specsavers demonstrated that the Wulfrun was a place in which to do business.

“Welcoming these new well-known retail names to the centre and working to facilitate an expansion really is good news for Wulfrun – and for Wolverhampton as a whole,” said Andrew.

LCP appointed letting agents Michael Tromans, Lambert Smith Hampton, and Rowley Hughes Thompson to bring the new retailers to the Wulfrun,

The leading property company is also relocating and upgrading the public toilets in the centre. The new facilities will be located in in the mall close to Iceland and are due to open in September

Wulfrun Centre, Wolverhampton, is one of the city’s main retail centres, comprising 200,000 sq ft. Other occupiers include Pandora, Poundland, Argos, Peacocks and The Fragrance Shop.
