Hungry shoppers in Wolverhampton will have three new outlets to choose from when The Wulfrun Centre opens a new food court.

The 8,132 sq ft, 100-seater food court over two floors will comprise Burger King, Rooster Chicken and El Taco Loco – bringing the number of food outlets in the centre to seven.

CPL Foods has agreed a 15-year lease with London & Cambridge Properties (LCP), which owns and manages the centre, to transform units nine and ten into a stylish, modern eating area.

Work should be completed by end of April and when it opens will create up to 40 jobs for local people.

Lamen Reddy, managing director of CPL Foods, which has 40 restaurants across England and Wales, said: “We are very pleased to be in the final stages of opening our fifth food court in the West Midlands and believe that the Wulfrun Centre is the ideal place for our brands.

“Our food courts are proving to be very popular in busy town and city centres and we expect Wolverhampton to be no different, as groups of friends can enjoy different styles of food yet still sit together.”

CPL Foods is a franchisee for Burger King, and has 22 standalone outlets, while it has created and built up its own Rooster Chicken, El Taco Loco, and Real Coffee brands.

Andrew Barrett, LCP asset manager, said: “We’re very excited to offer shoppers a new food court, which will enable them to choose from three different offerings.

“We are committed to providing Wolverhampton shoppers with a great range of stores and facilities in modern, bright surroundings and have welcomed several new tenants over the past few months. The food court will be a very welcome addition as we continue our investment in the Wulfrun Centre.”

Wulfrun Centre, Wolverhampton, is one of the city’s main retail centres, comprising 200,000 sq ft. Other occupiers include Pandora, Argos, Peacocks and The Fragrance Shop.
