Lina Higuita has been appointed as the new centre manager for the Arcadian centre in Birmingham.

Lina, who is originally from Colombia and moved to Birmingham over 20 years ago, will be in charge of the day-to-day management of the Arcadian - owned and managed by London & Cambridge Properties (LCP) - including all centre activities, lease contracts and services.

Her main focus is to grow the relationship with existing tenants and improve links with the centre’s neighbouring businesses to encourage them to work more collaboratively on initiatives that are designed to increase footfall to the Southside, Chinatown and Theatre districts of the city.

“Joining the Arcadian team is an exciting opportunity because the centre has such an energetic vibe, with its eclectic mixture of restaurants, bars and unique comedy venue,” said Lina, whose former roles include facilities manager at Marketing Birmingham and, more recently, soft services manager at Carillion.

“I will be working with the tenants to ensure the Arcadian remains one of Birmingham’s popular nightspots as well as introducing initiatives to attract more daytime visitors.”

Jo Salmon, LCP's retail asset manager, said: “There is nowhere like the Arcadian centre anywhere in Birmingham – a real jewel in the city’s crown.

“When the centre administrator, Colin Higgins, retired we needed someone with the management expertise and local knowledge who could pick up on the excellent work that had already been done. Lina has a breadth of experience and enthusiasm, so we’re looking forward to drawing up some exciting plans for the continued improvement of the Arcadian.”

The Arcadian is home to a variety of bars, restaurants and The Glee Club – a comedy venue. The on-site Arcadian car park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides safe and secure parking with more than 500 car parking spaces spread over three floors. The leisure destination is close to the Hippodrome and Alexandra theatres, as well as the Bull Ring Shopping Centre.
