TRAINING FIRM MOVES TO LCP ESTATE

An industrial training company is benefitting from the upturn in the economy and is to move to bigger premises in the Black Country.

CPC Training Consultants has agreed a three-year lease on unit 26 on the Springfield Estate, Manchester St, Oldbury.

Founded in 1972 by former HGV driver David Hilton, the company provides a number of training courses in subjects such as transport, forklift truck, warehouse and management.

The company has now invested in 5,518 sq ft of premises to meet the increasing demand for work-based training.

Debbie Small, operations director at CPC, said the new site is a valuable addition to its existing units, head office at Bradfield House and the training academy, both of which are situated close by on Popes Lane.

“CPC has been able to forge a working partnership with Bournville College, which has enabled us to look to the expansion needed to address the skills shortage in the local logistics industry. Our aim is to get local people working in local jobs,” she said.

This expansion enables CPC to close the skills gaps within the local workforce by offering nationally recognised qualifications for the logistics sector, including Forklift Truck Training for both novice and refreshers, warehouse and storage, as well as first aid and manual handling.

“We were pleased that unit 26 at the Springfield Estate fitted the brief and that the company is joining us on one of our popular Black Country industrial estates.”
