NEW BAR TO OPEN AT THE ARCADIAN

The Arcadian, our leading leisure venue in the heart of Birmingham city centre, is welcoming a new bar this weekend.

Portrait Bar launches today (Friday, August 28) on the ground floor. The concept of this new venture is inspired by Bertha Ryland, who was arrested and imprisoned in 1914 for slashing a painting in Birmingham Art Gallery in protest at the appalling treatment of female protestors at the time.

Aimed at the under 30s, it is a high-quality bar that boasts luxury fittings, bold graphics and an avant-garde outlook.

Welcoming the new bar to the venue, Jo Kinsella, centre manager at The Arcadian, said: “After what has been an extraordinarily challenging year for the leisure industry it’s great news to see a new brand coming here. It’s wonderful to see so many venues reopening after months of lockdown and we’re looking forward to more positive times.”

In line with Government guidelines, Portrait Bar has a reduced capacity of 150. To book a table, visit: https://portrait.bar/
