The Killingworth Centre, in Killingworth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, will be taking part in the fabulously festive The Snowman and The Snowdog trail.

The interactive trail will see 20 life-sized sculptures come to North Tyneside streets from Saturday, November 14 until the end of January and anyone wanting to find all of them can download an app in the Android and iPhone app stores or print out a map at www.visitnorthtyneside.com.

The trail is based on the 12 Days of Christmas song and is inspired by The Snowman and The Snowdog short animated film released in 2012, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ global hit The Snowman.

The Killingworth Centre will house one of the sculptures and plans to locate it by Wilkos and Poundland and the bus stop.

Ian Lloyd, of LCP, which owns and manages the centre, said: “We’re excited to be selected as one of the locations for this unique trail and hope this fun attraction will bring some much-needed festive cheer for families.”

Elected Mayor of North Tyneside, Norma Redfearn CBE, said: “I’m thrilled that we have such a special event taking place across the winter that everyone can enjoy whilst supporting our important town centre businesses.

“We know things are hard right now so it’s important that we still have things for people to see and do in a safe way.

“It’s a real coup to have the trail coming to North Tyneside and I hope it will provide our residents and visitors with something to look forward to and enjoy.”
