THE FOOD SHACK, THORNABY

Due to delays in receiving deliveries of construction materials, the opening of The Food Shack, Thornaby’s first street food venue, will be delayed.

A spokesperson for LCP, which owns and manages The Pavilion Shopping Centre, said: “We’re really looking forward to opening this exciting food venue and I know the operators are keen to open their doors, too. Unfortunately, due to continued global shortages of some key construction materials, we will not be opening this week, as was hoped.

“We will keep the local community updated on the situation and anticipate a fantastic opening in the next few weeks.”

The Food Shack is being housed in the former Poundstretcher store. It will comprise a variety of food and drinks operators as well as a bar.
