Two electric vehicle charging points have been installed at the Concourse Centre, Skelmersdale.

The InstaVolt rapid 120kWh+ chargers have been installed in the main car park and are already activated.

Rob Ellis, Director (shopping centres) at LCP, which manages the shopping centre, said it forms part of its comprehensive programme to install a further 330 charging stations in 88 at its larger retail parades and centres by October 2022.

“We’re working hard to help the UK develop a good infrastructure of EV chargers and are pleased to unveil our two latest points at the Concourse Centre in Skelmersdale,” he said.

Any electric vehicle that is DC compliant can use an InstaVolt charging point and all have CHAdeMO and CCS2 connectors.

InstaVolt chargers cost £0.57 per kWh and there is no connection fee or monthly membership fee.

This year, InstaVolt was named the UK’s best public charging network by Zap-Map for the fourth consecutive year and was awarded the EVIE Private Sector Infrastructure Strategy of the Year award for the second year in a row.
