Burger King is to open a fast-food restaurant at Cwmbran Centre after it sealed a deal for a retail unit at the popular shopping destination.

It has signed a 10-year lease with commercial property and investment company LCP for a 1,855 sq ft store at 23 North Walk.

Fit out has already begun and there is an expected opening date of November. About 30 local jobs will be created.

Alex Williams, LCP Asset Manager, said: “Burger King is a welcome addition to the food and beverage offer at Cwmbran Centre and it comes on the back of a number of new tenants bringing their brands here, increasing the range and breadth of shops that shoppers can enjoy.”

Cwmbran Centre has 180 retail units over 740,000 sq ft and is anchored by Asda and Primark. Other leading brands include JD Sports, River Island, Superdrug, New Look and Deichmann and there are 3,000 free car parking spaces and a dedicated bus station.

Agents acting for LCP were Phil Gwyther at EJ Hales and Will Thomas and James Williamson at KLM.
