Trespass, the international sportswear and outdoor clothing brand, has opened a new store at The Galleries in Washington, Sunderland, making it the tenth new retailer to open at the shopping centre this year.

The shop has signed a five-year lease for unit 34, a 2,228 sq ft shop near to Bodycare, Holland & Barrett and Game, after agreeing terms with national commercial property and investment company LCP, which manages the centre.

It is its second store in Sunderland.

Kerry Grannon, area manager at Trespass, said: “We’re delighted to be coming to The Galleries, Washington, and creating six6 new jobs within the centre.

“This is the latest opening in our expansion across the UK. We know the people of the North East love the outdoors and we know they also appreciate the mix of style, quality and good value that Trespass will bring. With winter weather already upon us, our latest store opening at The Galleries couldn’t be more timely.”

Simon Eatough, Director for Landlord and Tenant said: “We’re over the moon to see Trespass open its doors. Since acquiring The Galleries at the beginning of the year, we’ve had a solid few months, bringing in ten new tenants, with a further two undergoing fitting out in readiness for opening in the next few months.

“The excellent work by our expert team of asset managers has brought 20,177 sq ft of store space back into use in this short space of time, adding to the diversity and offer at this prominent shopping destination.”

The Galleries Shopping Centre has 120 stores over 200,000 sq ft, 2,500 free car parking spaces and a dedicated bus station.
