We’re thrilled to see the Caro Lounge has opened at the Cwmbran Centre, revitalising a unit that stood empty for more than ten years.

The café/bar in the former Square Inn Public House, 47-49 Gwent Square, is run by Loungers, which also operates Cosy Club.

It is now open daily, serving a broad range food and drink, including gluten-free and vegan standalone menus.

Alex Williams, LCP asset manager, said: “Loungers is well known for its quirky interiors and family-friendly environment and we’re pleased it’s recognised that Cwmbran is a comfortable fit for its brand.

“Since we took ownership of the centre at the beginning of the year, we’ve brought in over 20 new traders, from local independent stores to national chains such as Loungers. We’ve kept our promise to invest in the shopping centre and we’re looking forward to 2023, when we will continue to add value – there’s definitely more exciting things to come.”

Loungers has agreed a 15-year lease for the 5293 sq ft unit.

Cwmbran Centre has 180 retail units over 740,000 sq ft and is anchored by a 100,000 sq ft Asda and has a 48,000 sq ft Primark. Other leading brands include JD Sports, River Island, Superdrug, New Look and Deichmann and there are 3,000 free car parking spaces and a dedicated bus station.
