CHEAPER LONG-STAY CAR PARKING CHARGES AT THE SHIRES SHOPPING CENTRE

The Shires Shopping Centre in Trowbridge has introduced new car parking charges – with the first hour now being free for visitors.

LCP, which taken the management the centre last month (January 2023), has contracted Your Parking Space to take over its management.

George Watson, of The Shires Shopping Centre, said: “We’re pleased the majority of shoppers will see significant savings on their parking costs as there will be no charge for the first 60 minutes and there are other great long-stay savings, too.

“Thanks to the technology Your Parking Space uses, shoppers will have more payment options, making it even more convenient, so we hope it will encourage more people to come into the shopping centre and enjoy what we have to offer here.

“The Shires is the main shopping centre for Trowbridge and as new owners, we are keen to make sure visitors and customers can maximise their time in the town.”

New equipment and ticket machines have been installed, which are touch screen and have an intuitive driver interface that recognises the vehicle registration number as the driver starts to input the details. 

The car parks operate as a 24-hour pay-on-exit or pay by app, with automatic number plate recognition  cameras in use.  Payment methods are:  via the payment kiosks, by mobile phone, by pre-booking or via the Your Parking Space app. Express payment – where visitors can scan a QR code with their smartphone – is also available.
