A new takeaway is to open at Cwmbran Centre this summer – but the name will be familiar to shoppers in the town.

Maggie’s Takeaway is relocating from Old Cwmbran to unit 5 Caradoc Road after signing a 10-year lease. It also has an established café in Market Place, Cwmbran , which has just been extended and has been granted an alcohol licence.

Known for its huge menu – from full English Breakfasts and Roast Dinners to snacks and drinks – it will serve freshly cooked jacket potatoes and fresh salads every day and will have a bakery section where there will be fresh bread and rolls to purchase daily.

Alun Harrison, owner, said Maggie’s is moving to new premises to accommodate demand from hungry shoppers and workers.

“We decided to move into the centre to expand our already growing business and thought this would be the perfect location for our business to grow further,” he said.

“We are currently fitting out and redesigning the shop to maximise its full potential and to give customers great service.”

It is hoping to open in July and could be hiring between four and six part-time staff. The takeaway will open seven days a week, from 9am – 11pm.

Alex Williams, Asset Manager, said: “Cwmbran certainly has an appetite for great food and we’re delighted Maggie’s is moving from Old Cwmbran into one of our shop units, where it’ll benefit from even greater footfall. We are looking forward to it opening later this summer.”
