Women’s clothing retailer Select has opened a new 2,533 sq ft store at the Galleries, Washington to offer a wider range of affordable fashion.

It has moved from unit 35a to units 85-86, where it sits alongside other high street fashion retailers.

With the additional space, it has expanded its lines, with clothing up to size 20 as well as Select Girl, a new range aimed at 7–14-year-olds.

Christine Saxby, area manager for Select, said: “We are really excited to launch our new store in the Galleries. Its location increases our profile and adds even more choice to an area of the centre that is already home to a number of clothing brands.

“The move has been met with really positive feedback from our customers and we have already seen new shoppers engage with the brand, especially with the introduction of new sizes and, in particular, Select Girl.”

Simon Eatough, Director of Landlord and Tenant at LCP,  the national commercial property and investment company which owns and manages the centre, said: “Relocating Select means we have strengthened the fashion offer within a specific area of the centre. The popular store now lines up alongside the recently opened retailers Trespass, Klass and You Know Whos as well as Bonmarché.

“Our proactive asset management has seen more than 20,000 sq ft of space at the Galleries repurposed this year. We have welcomed new retailers with existing tenants upsizing and we have more developments planned for this popular shopping centre.”

Amy James, Legal Director acted on behalf of LCP.

The Galleries hopes to announce a new tenant for the former Select store in the next few weeks.
