Cwmbran Leisure, the dominant leisure destination in Cwmbran, South Wales, is fully let after two new restaurants signed up for the remaining units.

Legend, a world food buffet, is to open in unit 2 – the former Dolce Vita Italian, while Yes Baba, a Turkish restaurant will occupy unit 3a.

Alex Williams, Asset Manager of national commercial property and investment company LCP, part of M Core, which owns and manages the leisure destination, said: “Adding Yes Baba and Legend to the dining line-up at Cwmbran Leisure is fantastic news for the town. They complement our existing strong leisure line up fantastically well and demonstrate Cwmbran’s continued attractiveness as one of South Wales’s leading retail and leisure destinations.

LCP Group acquired Cwmbran Leisure at the beginning of 2023, just 12 months after taking ownership of the neighbouring Cwmbran Centre.

It is the dominant leisure facility in the South Wales town, with an eight-screen Vue cinema, 20-lane Hollywood Bowl plus six restaurant units, including a Harvester and Pepe’s Peri Peri. A tanning salon, gym and an independent college are also on the site.

Williams said the success of the leisure facility mirrored that of the neighbouring Cwmbran Centre.

“The Cwmbran Centre continues to be a great success story,” he said. “We’ve just announced that the former House of Fraser will be taken over by a national sports and gym operator. This follows the recent opening of Coffee#1, while Dunelm is due to open at the end of the month.”

Cwmbran serves an extensive catchment of 683,000 people and benefits from footfall of more than 19 million visitors a year.

LCP, which is part of M Core, one of the largest, privately held commercial property portfolios in the UK, has a strong appetite for investment and is actively seeking opportunities across the country.

M Core has invested more than £160 million over 12 months in 25 retail centres. Major acquisitions include M Park Alexandra in Lincolnshire, Weavers Wharf in Kidderminster and M Park Ocean Plaza and Central 12 in Southport.

It has £300 million available to invest for assets ranging from £500,000 to £30 million and portfolios up to £150 million.

Williams added: We remain committed to expanding the existing food and beverage offering within the town centre and are eager to hear from any similar aspiring restaurateurs to discuss opportunities to work together.”
